Day 1 - Travel Day to Berlin
Amersterdam was the first stop in Europe. I can't say that I notice much difference between the AMS airport and any other airport in the states.I toured the AMS giftshops and one item that caught my attention was the subtle way that they warn of the dangers of smoking... After another 12 hours of traveling, Jennifer and I finaly made it to Berlin. We took the shuttle to the main train station and then a bus to our hotel. At this point we are extremely tired and ready for sleep, however hotel check-in is at 2pm and it is onlz 9:30am in Berlin. So we leave our luggage at the hotel and stroll through PotsDamer Platz. My favorite place is the Brandenburger Tör (Brandenburg Gate) and The ReichStag Bulding.
On our way back to the hotel from Potsdamer Platz we cut back through the Brandenburg gate and we ran into a large peaceful protest. I spoke to the polizei and they said the farmers were protesting the cost of milk...or something.

Don't tell me that bear wearing the sash and crown/tiara had something to do with the milk protest. You can never make a bear happy...you give them a glass of milk and then they want the whole cow. And what's the blue thing standing next to him...some sort of freakishly huge smurf in a suit?
Okay, now that's funny - they need to post that on the cigarettes here in the states!
